How to Host a Clothing Drive for Spreading Threads Clothing Bank Does your organization or business love clothing drives? At Spreading Threads Clothing Bank, we do, too!
If your school, business, or organization is considering hosting a clothing drive for Spreading Threads Clothing Bank, thank you so much in advance!

Below are some ideas and answers to frequently asked questions:
We'd love to come speak to your group if you like. Please contact us by text at (520) 971-3237 or email spreadingthreads@comcast.net to arrange for us to come speak with your group.
For nearly all categories, we prefer new items only. Many of the children we serve have been through traumatizing and demoralizing experiences. We feel very strongly that all items we offer should underscore the message that every child has value.
Please email us at spreadingthreads@comcast.net or text us at (520) 971-3237 to arrange a convenient drop-off time. We are quite flexible but need notice as most days we are open by appointment only. Our clothing bank is near Flowing Wells and Miracle Mile in Tucson.
Probably not. We are extremely limited in this capacity.
We will take seasonal items year-round. You don’t need to worry about timing your drive with current demand. If you’d like to have a coat drive in March, we will happily store those until the
the weather turns cooler again.
This is a favorite category for a reason. We give out a ton of socks, underwear, and bras. These must be new, all sizes are great, and we can use either single pairs or packs.
Of course! We accept tennis shoes in all sizes (must be new or in excellent condition). Sandals, flip-flops, and slides should be new. We will take winter boots in excellent condition.
We also love new pajamas, school uniforms, swimsuits, costumes, and hoodies.
Kids love new, snuggly, warm items: beanie hats, fuzzy socks, knee-high silly socks, gloves, mittens, and scarves.
You bet! The following items are popular at our events: sunglasses, hair accessories, jewelry, bags, hats, and belts. We also accept new makeup.
Most of our space is reserved for clothing but we do appreciate new hygiene items (no razors or anything with alcohol in it), school and art supplies, toys for all ages, kid-friendly books, and stuffed animals.
The categories that work best include jeans, outerwear, formal wear, and boots. All items should be in excellent condition. We will not offer a child anything that is torn, stained, or must be repaired to function.
Would you like to sponsor a special event?
At many of our Second Saturday events, we have a surprise to give out. If you have something in mind that your group would like to contribute, please contact us. Examples of special events we’ve had include Back-to-School, Back-to-Summer, Christmas in July, and Halloween.
Finally, we have our “Kids Give” event in December.
See our events page for a description of this event. If your donations are specific to this, please plan to get them to us by the end of November. We accept new gift sets valued at $10 or more and gift-wrapping supplies. Gifts should NOT contain or reference alcohol or drugs, weapons, knives, razors, or Sharpie brand markers.
Thank you again for considering hosting a clothing drive to donate to Spreading Threads Clothing Bank. We couldn’t be successful without the support of generous donors like you!
